The Resource Centre is our administration base and is set within a nature reserve and Victorian garden. The centre includes a community room as well as a fully equipped kitchen.
The community room is available for hire for meetings, workshops, private functions such as birthday parties, anniversaries etc, and can hold up to 30 people. Access to the nature reserve and gardens is included when hiring the community room.
If you’re considering hiring the community room, you are very welcome to call in to the Resource Centre (Monday – Friday between 9:30 – 16:30) before making a booking to ensure the room is suitable.
There is a 50″ flat screen monitor hirers are welcome to use and WiFi is available.

NATURE / FOREST SCHOOL THEMED PARTIES FOR CHILDREN
If you’re looking to hire the Resource Centre for a children’s party with a nature / forest school theme facilitated by a recognised company we would suggest contacting a local company such as Secret Adventurers Club or Nuturing Wild.
The name of any company facilitating the party will need to be confirmed as part of the booking process.
As part of the booking process, you will need to confirm which company will be facilitating your party.
Political Activities and Campaigning:
We do not hire our spaces for party political activities, including campaigning on behalf of political parties or candidates in elections, or party-political fundraising events.
We welcome community groups, advocacy organisations, and campaigns whose work supports our charitable purposes of promoting physical and mental health, environmental protection, education, and creative expression.
Activities and Organisations We Do Not Hire Our Spaces To:
We reserve the right to decline bookings from individuals or organisations whose activities, in the sole opinion of Sydenham Garden, could conflict with our values and legal obligations. This includes:
- Organisations or events that discriminate against people based on protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 (race, religion or belief, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, age, pregnancy/maternity, marriage/civil partnership)
- Groups that promote hatred, intolerance, or violence toward any protected group
- Activities that undermine equality, dignity, or safety for any protected group
- Organisations whose primary activities cause significant environmental or other harm
- Activities that could reasonably harm the mental or physical wellbeing of our community or other space users
